Strike, Shmike! – P2BK Bands Together to Uphold Kuwait’s National Interest
Now, I don’t know about anyone else, but as soon as I heard about this striking business that Kuwait Airways and the Kuwait customs are holding over freaking payment increases it tickled me. Just because I can’t get enough of seeing the highly privileged whine and moan about virtually nothing.
I didn’t really think much of it because, at the end of the day, Kuwait is pretty well-known for its conscientious nature. I thought that, even when these people are striking for something which, if compared to the rest of the world (or the rest of Kuwait for that matter), looks pretty puny to me, there’s no way they’d actually allow for any serious damages to occur just because they want a little extra dough.
But then I read this and this and I was shocked. And, honestly, a little peeved.
I mean, people can strike all they want–in fact, it’s their constitutional right–but, if they wish to put up a tough front like they are now then they can’t be expected to not have any safeguard plans in place to make sure that economic crisis don’t occur and that people are not going insanely hungry! If you wanna have a big-boy strike then you’ve got to have a big-boy plan, otherwise you should be going to big-boy jail for incurring that much damage for your own personal interests.
Yeah, I said jail. Because when you’re the reason behind your very own government losing ONE MILLION DOLLARS EVERY FOUR HOURS or when you’re the reason that there is hardly any food left in the country AND THAT WHAT IS LEFT HAS GONE UP IN PRICE BY 100 PERCENT, then that level of negligence and national damage should be considered a freaking criminal offense.
I’m sorry, but if you’re willing to put your own country through that much pain just so you can have bigger paychecks (which, by the way, is probably already higher than the gross domestic product of Somalia) then it is completely unacceptable and, in my book, not excusable.
Thankfully, P2BK (Proud To Be Kuwaiti) is stepping up to the plate to make sure that the losses stop and that people stop suffering due to this negligence. They’re organizing a campaign called Klna Laha (“We’re All for Her”) calling upon people to volunteer (yeah, that means for no money whatsoever) in Kuwait Airways and in Customs for the sake of Kuwait’s national interest and public well-being.
They’ve already gained quite a strong following on Twitter and have signed up a lot of people who are ready to do all they can to make sure that Kuwait and its people do not fall on hard times just because of a few stubborn, childish people.
Their dedication to always see Kuwait flourish and their completely self-less desire to see Kuwait rise above all adversity is truly a thing to be proud of and, in my opinion, should serve as a humbling message to the people who are choosing to strike and watch their own country disintegrate at the expense of their own personal moan-fest.
